Chapter 1. mysqld Options/Variables Reference

The table below shows all the options and variables available across all versions of the mysqld server. The columns are as follows:

  • Name — the name of the option or variable.

  • Intr — the version in which the option or variable was introduced in mysqld

  • Depr — the version of mysqld in which the option or variable was deprecated.

  • Cmd — indicates whether the option/variable is valid on the command line.

  • Cnf — indicates whether the option is valid within a configuration file.

  • Srvr — indicates whether the variable is a server system variable.

  • Stat — indicates whether the variable is a status variable.

  • Scp — indicates the scope of the variable (session-specific, global, or both).

  • Dyn — indicates whether the variable is dynamically settable while the server is running.

  • 4.1 — indicates if the option/variable is available in the MySQL 4.1 series. If more information is available in the main reference manual, the indication will be a link to the correct part of the manual.

  • 5.0 — indicates if the option/variable is available in the MySQL 5.0 series. If more information is available in the main reference manual, the indication will be a link to the correct part of the manual.

  • 5.1 — indicates if the option/variable is available in the MySQL 5.1 series. If more information is available in the main reference manual, the indication will be a link to the correct part of the manual.

  • 6.0 — indicates if the option/variable is available in the MySQL 6.0 series. If more information is available in the main reference manual, the indication will be a link to the correct part of the manual.
